Built in the early 1800s, this home is also known as the Lucy Holcombe Pickens House. Records show that this house was purchased in 1829 as an “old house” by Colonel Philemon Holcombe, a Revolutionary War comrade of General Marquis de Lafayette. Lafayette was made godfather to Beverly Lafayette Holcombe, Philemon’s son.
